MTN Betatalk was one of the most loved tariff plans on the MTN network because of the huge airtime and data bonus that comes with each recharge. However, this darling MTN tariff plan is now history.
MTN shut down the BetaTalk tariff plan on 30th March 2025 and automatically migrated customers to their newest tariff plan called BetaGist. The BetaGist tariff plan allows MTN subscribers to make calls at a flat rate of 30k/sec across all local networks.
This means that all the MTN BetaTalk codes are now BetaGist codes. Although there is little adjustment in the services that MTN offered to BetaTalk subscribers when compared to the BetaGist tariff plan, the services are still closely related. So don’t be confused when we use MTN BetaTalk interchangeably with MTN BetaGist in the course of discussion.
MTN BetaTalk Code
There are different MTN BetaGist codes. These codes help MTN subscribers to join the newest MTN tariff plan and access all the services therein. There are codes for joining the BetaGist tariff plan, checking BetaGist balance, and buying airtime on the tariff plans. There is also code for leaving the plan. These codes are unique and function-specific. The codes are detailed below:
Code for Joining MTN BetaTalk/BetaGist
The code that you can use to join MTN BetaGist is *123*2*1# or *405#. Once you dial this code on your MTN line, you will be migrated to MTN BetaGist instantly. The code is easy to use; just press it on your phone dialpad and you are good to go.
Code for Checking Get-Back Balance on MTN BetaGist
The MTN BetaGist has an offer where subscribers receive a 3-minute voice bonus when they make up to 6 minutes of calls. This means that if your call lasts for up to 6 minutes on BetaGist, you will get a three-minute free call-back bonus. The bonus lasts for 48 hours, and you can get up to 6,000 minutes per month.
The code that you can use to check the get-back balance on MTN BetaGist is *310*5#. Once you dial this code on your MTN line, your get-back balance will display on your phone screen.
Code for Buying Betamix Bundle on MTN BetaGist
The new MTN BetaGist has a Betamix bundle where subscribers get special data bundles and call bonuses at a very cheap rate. There are both Betamix mini and Betamix max.
The Betamix mini is 40MB with 2 minutes of complimentary voice calls at ₦50, while the Betamix maxi is 100MB with 4 minutes of complimentary voice calls at ₦100. The Betamix bundles (mini & maxi) are valid for one day.
The code to subscribe to Betamix (mini) is *312*28#, while the code for Betamix (max) is *312*29#. To get started, just dial the code that corresponds to the Betamix bundle you want to subscribe to and it will be activated instantly as long as you have sufficient balance on your line.
Code for Leaving MTN BetaGist
If you want to leave the MTN BetaGist plan and opt for another plan, the appropriate code to use is *123*2#. Once you dial this code, you will be removed from MTN BetaGist immediately, and you can then choose another plan of your choice.
